Our latest (and yet only) album “Memento Mori” (2024) ponders life and death, finding both in each other like yin and yang. The album is telling stories about death, decay and the need to deal with it all to embrace life: yes, it’s a death-themed album about life!
“Memento Mori” was a final product of 5 years of jam-sessions between guys who had been playing together in a heavy-metal band Catnap, but had never really truly created together, as in Catnap the workflow was mostly learning stuff composed by one composer (the frontman Björn Norralt). In a way this album was a killing for Björn, as he changed the way he created music, moving from a one-man composing scheme to a full-on co-creation.
The album was recorded in Helikombinaat in Kuressaare (Estonia) by Kurt Gluck, produced by the band itself. Mix and master was by Keijo Koppel. The birth of the album was also very much aided by Kristiina Eha, who was our manager at the time, helping with everything else that wasn’t directly making music, so we could concentrate on the most important stuff.
“Memento Mori” is now available on all streaming platforms and some CD-s are also still available for purchase.
